Dolphin Bay

We left the anchorage off of Red Frog Marina this morning and ended up here in Dolphin Bay about 12 miles away. Not a bad trip but again we motored as there wasn't a bit of wind. We're at the south end of Dolphin Bay and there isn't even a hint of any breeze down here so we'll probably move up to the north end of the bay tomorrow where we should have about 5 knots of wind. It'll be a bit cooler if we can get some sort of breeze over the boat. Just a few hundred yards behind us is mainland Panama with a few houses along the shore. We met Mary and Carl five or six years ago in Guatemala were here three years ago when they were building their new house. It completed and looks really nice, up on a hill in the jungle and overlooking the bay. Its mostly green here, just a few houses here on the south shore and up in the northern part of the bay is Bocas Torrito, a very small village that we enjoyed on our last visit. I wonder if the restaurant there is still in business...

We're going to hang out here for a few day. Tonight we'll go see Carl and Mary up at their new house and the tomorrow a sailboat named Manana is headed here and wants to buy a piece of equipment that we no longer need, so we'll meet them tomorrow. Then on Monday another boat plans to meet us here to get something else from us. So I guess on Tuesday we'll probably head out of Dolphin Bay. Maybe to our favorite bay named by the gringos The Dark Lands (locals call it Buena Vista), or we'll go be adventurous and try something new like winding our way through the mangroves to Laguna Chiriqui. We'll let you know where we end up.

Oh, if you're looking for Dolphin Bay you should know that again, this is the name that Gringos call this bay, on nautical charts and other maps it is actually referred to as Laguna Porras.
