Mary and Carl

Yesterday evening David and I went to Mary and Carl's house. We had met them many years ago in the Rio Dulce of Guatemala, the last time we saw them was a bit over three years ago after they bought some property here in Dolphin Bay. Now their house is done and it really is something special, I especially like the 12' deep wrap around porch with views overlooking the bay from atop a hill. While we sat eating snacks and catching up the howler monkeys were in the trees below the house on the hillside foraging. It was need to see them from this advantage and there were even a few very small babies. It was fun catching up with them.

This morning the howler monkeys were making a racket at 530, I had forgotten how loud these small primates can be. We raised anchor today and moved away from the shoreline and anchored right in the middle of the bay. There's very little breeze and being so close to land meant the hills were blocking what little chance of cool breeze there was, in the middle of the bay we're feeling much more comfortable.
