Going well in Panama City. Still liking it here at Torres de Alba. I'm in the first tower, the older and shortest of the three. The second floor has a huge almost wrap around patio and pool, they serve the breakfast here in the mornings. Gotta say I'm impressed. Fresh fruit choices include bananas, pineapple, watermelon and papaya. There's a selection of cold cereal, variety of breads next to the toaster with butter and jams, muffins too. Hot trays have sausages in some sort of sauce, cubed potatoes, what looks like boneless ribs and pancakes in the last. A beautiful lady stands behind the second table with two small pans to cook your eggs to order and next to her is a wide selection of ingredients. I had a ham and cheese omelet yesterday and today. And what is breakfast without coffee. Fresh brewed coffee but there is also a self serve espresso machine. That requires too much work that early in the morning so I just went for the fresh brew. They had tea too, didn't pay attention to the selection though. A pretty busy staff kept tables clean and food trays full. It was interesting watching the mix of people at the hotel on the patio. Conversations in English, Chinese, Italian, and of course Spanish went on all around me.
Let's see. I went to Casa de la Bateria to see if they had any nice hydrometers, they didn't. They had a great selection of batteries though. Instead of catching a taxi right back to the hotel I decided to visit the hardware store next to the battery shop. Pretty cool but all big industrial stuff, no way to get any of that on the boat. Walked around a lot, stopped at the grocery store and bought a pack of large garbage bags. Something to wrap the computer bag in in case it's raining when I get back to Bocas. Made it back to the hotel, then went walking again. Ended up getting a soft serve at McDonalds. Pretty tasty. Haven't had dinner yet, might have to get something soon.
Oh, got my ticket, fly back to Bocas tomorrow. No morning flights available for the next four days so I'm coming back on the evening flight, will be back around 5:30pm. Derek, the manager here at the hotel said no problem getting a late check out. At least I won't have to lug my bags around for a while. Pretty heavy rain and winds forecast for Friday through Monday, we'll need to get the anchor raised and moved to a better and more secluded anchorage early Friday. That's it for now.
